This is the new Tokyo art centre, an absolute masterpiece of a building, designed by Kisho Kurokawa, who died in October 2007, less than a year after this building was opened.

This building will not be used as a repository for artworks, and will have no collection of its own, but will be a set of galleries devoted purely to changing exhibitions, supported by theatres for lectures and seminars, and a small art library, all open to the public. Entry into the building is free, and patrons only pay for the art exhibitions.
